Don your Halloween glamour, stroll down the red carpet and smile for the cameras at the 15th Annual Witches’ Ball, “Magic in the Movies!” This year’s Ball, sponsored by the Red Hills Pagan Council (RHPC), will be Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the American Legion Hall, 229 Lake Ella Drive, from 8PM to 12:30AM.

Lose yourself in celluloid dreams with iconic images of stardom, from Bela Lugosi to Bette Midler. And you just might get some “terrible thrills” – all for a good cause! Over the past four years, the RHPC has forged a beneficial alliance with Tallahassee Big Dog Rescue, a non-profit organization which36428_138017366216496_578341_n is dedicated to the rescue of dogs (and cats!) from abuse, abandonment or other dire circumstances, and placing them in caring, adoptive homes. Continuing this partnership, a portion of the Ball’s proceeds will be donated to support the work of Tallahassee Big Dog Rescue. Representatives from Big Dog will be on hand at the Ball to answer questions about their program and adoptions. For more information, go to www.bigdogrescue.com

Headlining this year is local favorite, Public Address, a three-piece rock band with a wide range of very danceable musical offerings, including current hits as well as old classics. The evening’s festivities will also include all the fun you’ve come to expect: 50-50 drawing, psychic readers, silent auction and a “clandestine” costume contest – anonymous judges roam the room and hand out prizes to adults and children. Additional entertainment will be provided by Arabian Flair, a modern belly dance company that provides a variety of artful and sophisticated dance entertainment, from classic Middle Eastern to contemporary belly dance.

Light fare will be provided inside the Legion Hall. For those with Brando-sized appetites, chef Rebecca Kelly’s Street Chefs food truck will be outside.

Doors open at 8PM. Tickets are $13 at the door; $10 in advance at Athena’s Garden in Railroad Square; Stone Age in the Centre of Tallahassee; and online at www.redhillspagans.org. Children under 12 are free!

More Pagan Pride Days to have EMLC Representation

Last weekend’s Pagan Pride Day in Ft. Lauderdale was a huge success!  Not only did EMLC’ers get to rub elbows with local pagans, but there were some fabulous handmade crafts all around the UU! Perhaps most prominent were the goodies at the EMLC table, made with love by members of our local council.  EMLC members posted pictures of the table during the event.  Here’s just a few…

In case you weren’t able to get down to Ft. Lauderdale to see us, members of EMLC will be at other Pagan Pride Day events around the state!  These include:

Orlando Pagan Pride Day: Saturday, October 13.  The 4th Annual PPD in Orlando!
Tallahassee Pagan Pride Day:  Sunday, September 23.  Includes workshops by EMLC members!
Volusia Pagan Pride Day:  Saturday, September 22.

EMLC members will be at all of the above PPD’s, so please stop by and say hello. They can answer any questions you have about us and will probably have a calendar or two on them if you’re interested in picking one up!

We can’t wait to see you at Pagan Pride Day!
