Witches are healers, and we take encouragement from the findings of science because it speaks about nature and the immanent world around us. Many of our members are health care providers. Vaccines prevent disease worldwide, and we must express our profound disappointment in Dr. Joseph Ladapo, Florida’s Surgeon General, for undermining public health by making childhood vaccines optional. He frames this decision as a matter of “agency,” yet denies women the right to control their own bodies.
Public health officials and leading medical associations have affirmed that vaccines are safe and effective. In the interest of community well-being, the Witches and Wiccans of Everglades Moon Local Council stand firmly with science and with public health leaders who work to protect children and the broader community. We affirm that vaccines remain a lifeline to health.
